His honour, Egbert Hellibore is the Chief Wizard of Hellibore's Wizard's Academy, a very renowned institution for aspiring wizards. He is well-known and respected all around and the boys who make it into the Academy are very lucky indeed.

The Chief Wizard and Miss Cackle are old friends, and he comes to visit frequently with his two apprentices. The way he teaches magic is very different than at Cackle's Academy and competitions and debates happen quite often as a direct result of this. Hellibore isn't shy and if he feels that the girls are lacking a certain magical skill, he'll teach it himself. Unfortunately for him, his apprentices are sneaks, which sometimes ends in disaster and embarrassment for him.

Hellibore may be a powerful man but he always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. If it's not Mildred accidentally flying into him, it's Algernon not being able to turn himself back into a human. No wonder he teaches master classes in magic!
