Mrs. Mary Tapioca is the school's cook. She may have a little trouble speaking English, but she has no trouble cooking delicious food. Unfortunately, Cackle's Academy has served the same meals for over thirty years, so her flair is somewhat restricted. This doesn't stop her from indulging the girls, especially Mildred, for whom she has a soft spot.
The girls are never turned away from Mrs. Tapioca's kitchen. As punishment, they are often sent down to help with the tasks at hand. The school has no dishwasher and no light, and poor Mrs. Tapioca is up till all hours, scrubbing the dishes by candlelight. She does it with a smile and a pinch on the cheek, so when the girls are in need of culinary expertise, their visit to the dungeon is one filled with fun and adventure.
