DundraCon 2014

DunDraCon is in my area, but San Ramon is a longer trek for me than Pacificon and KublaCon. This was my fifth time to the convention. I didn't run events, and played in a mix of LARP and tabletop, going with my son on Sunday. The events that I attended were:

Hell's Karaoke

This was a mildly larp-themed karaoke event run by Erik Dahl, which was good for a Friday night after work. Great fun and a bit of hellishness.

Who destroyed Earth? The Sons of Earth think the Keepers know; they kidnapped one of their Associates. The Keepers immediately offered a Million Qubits for the kidnappers, dead or alive...

An action-filled space opera adventure tabletop adventure, which I played with Milo. I played a character inspired by Jack Burton (from Big Trouble in Little China). The full players and their characters were:

It was fairly straightforward sci-fi action/adventure, done well with a bit of tongue-in-cheek. There was a bunch of tactical action, eventually taking on a villain on an opposing ship.

Written by Craig Shackleton

A competitive Pathfinder event, with the following players and characters:

The plotline was a fairly standard walk through some mysteries and challenges, eventually ending with a confrontation with a witch in a ship frozen in ice.

Decades before the Moorstepper, before the Hunt of Antumn and the seal of the dragon, there were two dozen heroes who would become legend. A prequel to the original Lloegyr trilogy.

A negotiation on a sinking ship between two parties, with difficult conflicts. This was a prequel to the Lloegyr trilogy, which I had a minor part in the third round of.

Conclusion

I ended up not taking good notes for this year, and resolve to do better next year.
