EXTRAS: Handsome

POWERS: Power Blast 6, Tough Body 2 vs. physical / 4 vs. energy

DISADS: Quick Tempered, Self Centered, Watched By Gentech Corp

Explanation of Powers:

Impulse is capable of generating huge amounts of electromagnetic energy and directing it outwardly. He can fire blasts capable of punching holes through heavy alloy armor plating at full peak intensity. In combat against living targets, however, he generally limits himself to level 4 blasts so as not to kill anyone.

Because of his genetic restructuring his body is very resilient to damage, more so to energy based attacks than physical. This is a natural side effect of his powers.

Background:

Bobby Bradley was a normal teen-aged boy, going to a normal school and engaging in normal athletics, but all that changed one normal day, when a not-so-normal shipment of a mutagenic compound was hijacked from the Gentech Corporation. Bobby was unfortunate enough to be taken as a hostage by the thieves when Gentech security agents closed in. The Gentech agents killed the thieves, but not until after Bobby was exposed to the mutagenic compound. His unconscious body was brought back to Gentech Labs where his injuries were ‘treated’ and he was secretly tested. Gentech assured Bobby’s parents that he was perfectly fine and that he would suffer no ill effects of his ordeal.

Bobby returned to his normal life, but soon tragedy struck. A random shooting killed both his parents. Gentech stepped in and took Bobby in as a student in their school for exceptional children, saving him from a life in foster homes. It was soon after that he learned that the other ‘exceptional’ children all had strange abilities like him.

Gentech has trained Robert to be one of their security agents and he has been given the name Impulse. Because of his temper he often runs into trouble with Dr Roman, the head of the school, and Ramis, the head of security.

Impulse has been teamed up with several of his fellow students on occasion. They call themselves the Extreme.

Notes:

The ‘hijacking’ and accidental ‘exposure’ are elements in the campaign that have come into suspicion by the player, as well as his parent’s deaths. It is unknown if any of these events were part of an overall plot on Gentech’s part. It is known that one of the ‘supposed’ thieves was not killed and has appeared as the superhuman Predator. The two have had several run-ins in what looks like a growing grudge match.
